Nature
Cambodia is not very careful with its natural resources, but has still a lot to offer for 'naturalists' and certainly for birders, but don't wait too long, as the forest, but also other habitats (grasslands, mangroves) are disappearing fast. Its tropical climate and the monsoons that come with it, make it for wildlife, as well as for the Cambodians not too difficult to survive. There are fruits all-year-round, the vegetation grows with a speed foresters in temperate zones can only dream of, and the yearly inundations from the monsoon rains bring again nutrients to area that seemed void of any life in the dry season. The Cambodian saying "When the water is high the fish eats the ant, when it's low the ant eats the fish" says it all.
