Pinkpop Classic 2010

During my yearly 'home-leave' I sometimes fall back into my old habits, and thanks to my good friend Nathalie Kester, who got me a press card for Pinkpop Classic 2010, I could see Iggy Pop perform and meet up with August Darnell, the leader of Kid Creole & The Coconuts. During our trip to the USA, Fer Abrahams & me were 'at the right time & place' to see the very first try-out of this band in the basement of a pizza restaurant in New York in 1980, where they performed for a handful fans of the Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band after their split. Cory Daye, their DBOSB lead-singer was amongst them. At the end of our short talk August said: "Well, …… see you again in another 30 years?"
