USA trip '80
Our trip for Music Magazine OOR brought us to NY, Boston, LA and Orlando, Florida. We saw quite a number of concerts, amongst which the first try-out of Kid Creole and the Coconuts in the basement of a pizza place in NY, an early concert of the GoGo's in the Whiskey a GoGo in LA and The Romantics performing in 'a joint in the woods' outside Orlando. We took the chance to see The Clash, XTC, Bob Seger, and Blondie jamming with James Chance & The Contortions in one of the famous clubs in NY. Lydia Lunch performed in the harbor area of NYC, we saw The Plasmatics in an old milk factory on Staten Island and drove back with the band to be in time to catch the night train to Boston, when their car caught fire while we were speeding along a highway ...... a cigarette bud, meant to be thrown out the front window had ended up under the back seat. Fer organized also interviews with Pearl Harbor & The Explosions, 20/20, The B-Girls, to name a few. Most of these didn't make it big, but some of their records have become collectors items.
